Changa Safari Camp is a wilderness getaway in Zimbabwe for those who like a touch of luxury with their adventure. In early 2015 I was hired to help in the production of a video meant to showcase the excellent fishing that can be found close to Changa. Originally I was hired to operate the B-camera and GoPro rig during a three day shoot in the sweltering heat of a Zimbabwean January. Once production wrapped I was also brought on as the primary editor. The finished piece drew much excitement from the client and brought in business and contacts from other fishing outfits in the region.
In August 2015, NBA Africa hosted the first ever NBA exhibition game on the African continent. The massive Zimbabwean telecommunication company ECONET commissioned a broadcast ad for the event. I was hired to help direct photography for production and then brought on to advise during issues encountered in post production. The ad we created made its way to broadcast on Sportscenter Africa and was also converted for internet use, where it has gathered more than 2,000 shares and 15,000 likes.

Currently finishing post production of its first season, African Automotive aims to be an exciting new show and the first of its kind; automotive entertainment for Africans! I was brought on as a camera operator and editor for the first episode and progressed to direct photography for episodes 2-4. Keep an eye out for this ground breaking new show, featuring Youth Ambassador and ZIWA Sportswoman of the Year Tanya Muzinda.
The JF Kapnek Trust is a pediatric health NGO that has operated in the north eastern sector of Zimbabwe for decades. They were an important part of the fight to combat Zimbabwe’s HIV epidemic in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and met with huge success. They now fund and build Early Childhood Development facilities at rural schools, feed more than 17,000 children a day and provide quarterly health screenings, HIV tests and counseling. The Trust hired me to help them put together several projects, the first and largest of which was a mission and manifesto video to help launch their new website. I spent many days shooting in the rural areas of Zimbabwe and then compiled and edited the video. This project is currently in the hands of BIRD, a marketing agency in California, for finishing.

For Your Island is a live broadcast, 30 minute magazine style television show that showcases interesting people and places on Long Island. During the Fall season of 2013 I directed studio broadcasts of the show and also produced content for it. The show follows a very strict schedule which requires attention to detail and quick turn arounds on edits and revisions. All of the below videos were stories I researched, pitched, produced, shot with a partner and edited. For each broadcast episode more than ten finished videos are submitted, but only four can air. Over the four episodes produced in a season, my work was selected for air three times.
During the live broadcast I directed a studio crew of 30+ to orchestrate timely, high quality shows.

Throughout my life I have had the great fortune to live and travel around the globe. Between December 2012 and October 2015 I spent cumulatively close to two years living and traveling in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is an incredible country, economically and politically its problems abound but despite that its people are welcoming, warm and intelligent. Zimbabwe also has some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen and its national parks, Hwange, Matusadona, Mana, Gonarezhou, Matobo and several others are home to rich megafauna and flora. All of these things appeal to me. My camera was on hand for every adventure I had in Zimbabwe, and I put together these two travel shorts to help share my experiences with others.
